Start A Reward Program For Your Employees

Employee Incentive Programs allow a company to give the employees reasons to want to excel while working on the job. A good rewards program will include several levels of reward and prizes to choose from. Rewards can be anything from a free gift card to a coffee shop, a dinner out or movie tickets. Many employees say that companies that reward them are much more welcoming for them to work at.

Setting up a Rewards Program is not difficult.  All you have to do is create a list of things you want to reward your employees for.  Some companies reward people who have excellent customer service, are always on time or never miss a day of work. Others reward people based on the number of items they sell, the customer complements that they receive or because other employees say that someone is a hard worker. Once you have set the list you can show it to the employees and explain what they will get awarded for. Posting the information in the employee lounge or online at the employee website allows all the workers to have easy access to the information so that they can get motivated to earn the award.
Human resources and managers can watch employees to see which ones are really trying hard and they can make recommendations if they think someone deserves an award or honorable mention.

If you set up a reward system in the company, you should have a monthly or yearly gathering where you hand the rewards out. This will show the whole company that you mean business and that you want to promote employee satisfaction. Companies who use rewards with their employees say that they retain employees better than the companies who do not use a reward system.  Employee Recognition allows you to show the employee exactly what you think of them and lets a company owner personally thank each member of the company that excels at what they do.

Incentive programs reward motive employees like nothing else can. Getting something free that their family and friends can use excites them. Many employees also like these programs because they can list the reward that they received on their resume and it shows that they are a wonderful worker. Being able to document that they do well while on the job makes the employee feel like they are a much valued member of the company. Having the knowledge that they were personally thanked for what they did will encourage employees to continue to go above and beyond their normal duty list. Positive reinforcement has always worked to promote a work environment that people want to come to work to. This keeps employees pumped and ready for action which is exactly what an employer wants.
